Hi all,
Quick question. Now the weather is getting more like it should this time of year, Titus is spending his days outdoors, coming back in at night for bed. He has plenty to forage in his enclosure (I still need to weigh and I bet he's piled it on!!), but because he is foraging I am unable to add his supplements, is it bad that he is missing a few days at a time?
Also, he is weeing regularly, but not a lot of urates? Is that good or bad??
Thanks
Steve
Calcium
Re: Calcium
Hi Steve,
It's fine if he doesn't have calcium for a few days. Mine are the same, and what I do is just pick a flower or leaf, wet it, sprinkle the calcium on it, and feed it to them by hand when they are outdoors (but it's really easy to forget to do that -- I know from experience -- but he'll be fine). Or you could give him one little leaf with calcium indoors before he goes outside.
They don't produce urates with every wee, and if they are super well hydrated the urates are really liquid like eggwhites, and you might not even notice.
Isn't it great to have proper sunshine!
