What are some good weed mixes to grow that are safe and nutritious for tortoises?

Why not try first using the filter tool on our plant database to produce lists of plants that are safe to feed. Just to this page:
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... -database/ and scroll down to the 'How to Use the Traffic Light Filters' section and follow the instructions there. If you have any problems, get back to us and we can explain in detail.

You may need to copy and paste this link into your web address bar to see it, as I don't know how to paste clickable links!!

Thanks for that link. I'll add it to the others I use -- Shelled Warriors and the TLady (although someone told me recently that her seed mix isn't available any more (must check on that).

Great question! A good weed mix for tortoises usually includes plants like dandelion, plantain (both broadleaf and narrowleaf), sow thistle, clover, and mallow. You can also include things like hawksbit, chickweed, and selfheal. Make sure to avoid anything treated with pesticides, and always double-check each plant against a tortoise-safe list just to be sure. Growing a variety gives them both nutrition and enrichment.
