Gary is an 11 year old Horsfield from Inkersall, Chesterfield and he is looking for a nice family who can take over his care. Originally this was a temporary home for Gary (his owners were emigrating to Australia) until he could move on from the current carer. However with the onset of covid and other family duties it has made it hard to pass him onto a permanent home, that is until now. His family love him immensely but because of unforeseen family matters it is impossible to carry on with his temporary care and would dearly like to have him settle into a family home where he can while away the warm summers days in the safe and secure garden with a family that can give Gary the care he needs.
Gary was not hibernated before he was taken over by the temporary owners but since then he has slowly been introduced to it. He used to eat a naughty diet until the vet recommended a change and he is now in the process of adjusting his diet to a fully edible wild tortoise friendly diet.
The owner is offering to drive an hour from Chesterfield to make delivery easier or can transport to Essex if that would be easier tor potential new carers.
If you would like to takeover Gary’s care and offer to lead him through the next part of his journey please feel free to contact the owner stating ‘Rehome Gary’ as the subject line to - karenjbeech@gmail.com. (copy & paste address or re type) stating what you have to offer and a photo or two would be nice.
If you don’t hear anything in a day or two resend and let me know on here so that I can let the owner know.
Remember that species cannot be mixed and quarantine period should be followed.
Good luck to you all and keep me posted.
