Rehoming Female Russian Horsefield, Melton Mowbray

Post by Bhaviep » 01 Oct 2024, 18:10

I’m finding myself in a really difficult position of needing to rehome my little tortoise as I am immigrating to Australia soon and they do not allow reptiles to be transported over. I had gotten her as a rescue when she was brought into the vet clinic I work at. I have a full set up for her which I intend to give to her new owners so they have everything ready to go for my gorgeous little girl. Her name is Kale, she's approximately 4 years old. She has a lovely temperament and is used to being handled by little children too, she’s accustomed to being handled as I’ve used her as a teaching pet within the clinic for student nurses.

Any additional special rehoming requests: just a loving home with people who understand her needs. I’d love to get updates on her if her new owners are open to that, but there’s no pressure.
Any other information you may feel relevant please: I have a fully equipped set up she will come with. This includes: tortoise table, heat lamp and bulb, UVB tube light and reflector, temperature gauge, tortoise edible flower feed, x2 hides, a water pond/bowl, slate tile for feeding, calcium powder, spare bulb holding stand, spare decor (rocks, plant pots), a tortoise husbandry book, flower seeds, f10 disinfectant spray.

Hi Bhaviep.
I would like to move your tortoise to our Facebook page where we do get a much wider audience so you might find a new home faster.
I have sent you an email and message asking you for some details and if this is something you would like can you reply on here or send to me at lin@thetortoisetable.org.uk.
Kind regards.

Lin

Hi Lin,
I just wanted to check whether my email had come through to you or not as I hadn't heard anything. Let me know if you need me to resend you any of the information.
Thanks,
Bhaviep

I'm sorry to hear you need to rehome your tortoise, Kale. It sounds like she's had a great life with you! I hope she finds a loving home where her new owners can provide the care she needs. The full setup you're offering will definitely help her transition smoothly!
