I am extremely upset to be requesting a new home for our two Horsefield Tortoises. We have had them since very young and are very attached to them.
Scrumpy is a male and approximately 21 years old.
Pip is female and approximately 17 years old.
They have very different personalities and are brilliant little pets. They have lived happily together for years.
They have an inside tortoise table which they use in bad weather and winter just for the lighting really, they do not live in it. They have full run of a secure garden, planted with tortoise friendly plants and a shelter which they put themselves to bed in at night during the summer.
They are used to shallow baths in the sink.
Scrumpy is a very confident male, fast and likes people, he also enjoys female tortoise company!!!
Pip is shyer and will only eat when you don't look at her! She moves very quickly when warm.
Both have an amazingly varied diet, both natural and bought food and are very healthy and good eaters.
We tried to hibernate Pip once and failed... she refused so neither have been hibernated.
Both were purchased from pet shops and guaranteed to be clear of illness. However Scrumpy got a respiratory illness when he was about 5 which was treated and he has not been ill since but we have monitored this. At the time the vet requested we never hibernate him because of this.
We have the outside 'hide', tortoise table and lighting system and lamps included in the rehome if they are useful to you.
