Hi everyone,
I'm a beginner in tortoise world, currently have 1 sulcata.
About the database in [https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/plant-database], does it apply to all kind of tortoise (sulcata included)?
Many thanks.
Clarifying the database
Re: Clarifying the database
Hi tortoise,
Our website plant database does include all tortoises including sulcata in the way that the Green and Amber traffic light symbols are suitable for all species and the red means no feed. Entry’s like grass will state that it is more suitable to grazing species and the fruit entry’s will state they are only suited to fruit eating species like red foot and yellow foot tortoise.
Here is a full rundown of how the database works - https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... -database/
I hope this helps and if you have other questions don’t hesitate in getting back to us.

Thank you lin for your response.
Just another question, so this database is only for tortoises. Turtles not included right?

Re: Clarifying the database
It is for tortoises, but any plants listed as not safe for tortoises would also be not safe for turtles, and any plants safe for tortoises would also be safe for turtles. Turtles have different dietary requirements from most species of tortoise, and we are not experts on turtles, but if you have any specific questions, do let us know and we will try to answer them.
