In light of the new arrival tomorrow I went on a walk around my village to see if there were and suitable resources for food.
The two pictures are ones I’ve not been able to match to anything of yet. They are prob a no but there’s so much of them that I wanted to check.
I’ve tried to do the pictures but to big a file how do I reduce them lol

Re: Plants
Hi,
There is software that will reduce photos for you, but it's easier just to send them to me ( nina@thetortoisetable.org.uk ) and I'll reduce them for you and post them here.
Cheers,
Nina

Re: Plants
Here are your photos.
The photo of the plant with the flowers is Viburnum tinnus, and here is a link to our entry for Viburnus, and V. tinnus is the main photo: https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=522&c=4 So it's not one to feed;

The other photo is harder to identify. It's one of the umbellifers, but without flowers, seedheads, etc. it's difficult to ID it, but most of the umbellifers are toxic or mildly toxic should not be fed, so I would err on the side of caution and not feed it to you tortoise:

Do keep looking though, as there are still lots of good plants out there to forage!

Re: Plants
Hi and I'm so sorry to be late in responding (it's been a busy day!).
Your first photo (the plant growing next to a fence, with bricks or tiles on the ground) is a Dock, and it has high levels of oxalic acid, so we don't recommend feeding it. Here is our entry for it: https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=134&c=6
The second photo is one of the hardy geraniums, and is perfectly fine to feed. Here is our entry for that one:
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... ant=17&c=5
The third photo (with the little purple flower) is a violet, which is also fine to feed, and here is our entry for that:
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=227&c=6
Two out of three isn't bad!
