So sorry about this, Raspberry Sam, and please see my response to your post below. I accidentally deleted your text (your photo is still there though) and can't get it back! Really, really sorry about that, but I hope the answer helps and sorry that it has been posted twice -- it's not my night!
That looks like Red Valerian to me, and it often grows in gravel or even out of cracks in walls. Here's our entry for it:

For information, and to help point out the differences between that and the other two plants, here's our entry for Iceplant, which has thick, succulent leaves:

And here's our entry for Knautia macedonica, which has a different type of petal in the flowers and also has very distinctive seed heads, which you can see in some of the photos.

Hope that helps,

Hi Sam,
Yes, one of your theories is correct, it’s Red Valerian and here is our entry for it just incase you haven’t seen it yet. https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/pla ... nt=284&c=6
Perfectly fine for tortoises and they love it.

Thanks for being so understanding -- it was a long day yesterday, with lots of correspondence to answer, and I just must have clicked on something that deleted your text by mistake! Please don't hesitate to get back with any more questions.

Red Valerian looks like a great find for tortoise-friendly plants! Sounds like it grows easily and the tortoises enjoy munching on it.
