Reptile veterinary practice near Windsor…

Post by joanne oakland » 13 May 2025, 10:24

Hi, can anyone recommend a good tortoise vet/specialist near Windsor please? We live in Datchet near Windsor and I would like to find a good reptile vet in case of emergencies.

Thank you, Joanne

Hi Joanne,

Have you searched through our list of recommended vets on the website? They are organised by county but sometimes, depending on where you live, a vet in another county is actually closer to you. If you do find a vet on the list, please ring them first to ask if they still have an 'exotics' vet (one who treats reptiles), as sometimes vets leave but we aren't always notified. https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/tor ... s-by-area/

Hello,
I live in Surrey and use Medivet in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Celene Pirri is their reptile specialist and I have been taking my tortoise to this practice to Celene and her predecessor for some years. I have always been happy with them. Celene is very knowledgeable. My tortoise had runny nose syndrome several years ago and they treated it perfectly with no recurrence.
Also there is Bruce Maclean in Oxford. He is excellent but it’s a bit of a hike.
It’s always reassuring to have the name of a tortoise specialist in case you need it.
Hope this is helpful.
